Workers’ Compensation for Injured Union Workers

Protecting the Rights of Union Employees Throughout Pennsylvania

Some of the toughest and most skilled jobs in this country are done by union workers. When you are a member of a union you can rely on that organization to help you in times of need. When you suffer a serious injury, however, you also want a union-friendly workers’ compensation lawyer who truly understands the unique challenges you face, how your collective bargaining agreements work, and how you are classified under your contract.

At Larry Pitt & Asociates, P.C., we have spent more than 40 years protecting union workers who have suffered a worksite injury, and need to collect workers’ compensation benefits in order to protect themselves and their families. We are the law firm that Pennsylvania employees trust to do right by them and to give them honest answers to their questions. We will continue to fight on behalf of injured workers throughout the Commonwealth; let us fight for you, too.

Why Union Work is a Bit Different in Terms of Making a Claim

Any employee who contributes to the Pennsylvania workers’ compensation fund should be allowed to draw benefits in the event of an injury. However, union workers may face some additional obstacles when it comes to filing a claim. For example, the teacher’s union has a special fund for educators who were victims of violence while at work, but it can only be accessed if a teacher gets clearance by seeing a doctor (chosen by the school district) for at least 90 days. And with so many unions working in the field of construction, it is possible that what a steelworker must do before filing a claim will be vastly different than what a taxi driver or plumber would have to do in terms of seeing a doctor.

When you work with us, you work with a team of workers’ compensation lawyers who have the skills and resources to handle your claim no matter what. We will work with your union leadership to ensure that everything is in order on all fronts. We document your injuries and work with your doctors to ensure that your claim is thoroughly prepared and up-to-date.

Who We help

Though we have the resources and experience to help injured workers in numerous positions around Pennsylvania, we routinely work with employees in public and private sector jobs in industries such as:

If you do not see your union represented on this list, that does not mean we cannot or will not help you: we can and we will. We represent firefighters, construction workerstruck drivers, mass transit operators – anyone in need of workers’ compensation in Pennsylvania.
